The Master of Science in Data Analytics and Policy prepares you to use analytics to tackle policy challenges in the public and private sector. Employers want experts who can conduct research and clearly communicate findings. This program is offered primarily online, although some electives are offered at the Johns Hopkins Washington, DC Center. Available in both a full-time and part-time capacity, you can complete the program in as little as one year of full-time study. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in research analysis, technical writing, budget analysis, social science, and more.
The master’s degree consists of 12 courses designed to teach skills in statistics, programing, data visualization, and communication. Upon graduation, you will be ready to apply theories of social science to data challenges and evaluate programs, policies, and initiatives using evidence-based assessments. You’ll also be prepared to develop original data analyses that answer research questions relating to politics, policy, and more. You will also learn how to artfully and clearly communicate and present your findings to various audiences.
